Rose's Swim Dress
This gown is as delicious as ribbon candy and fluffy as taffy! All the fabrics for this gown are hand-dyed by me.
The bodice is creamy silk with an overlay of lace trimmed with pearls, either glass or freshwater. Over this is a layer of soft lavender chiffon with kimono-style sleeves with an inner sash of lilac.
The gorgeous skirt consists of five layers of silk, beginning with creamy china silk. Over this is a layer of silk chiffon dyed light purple at the bottom. I've had many requests for this layer to be pink! Over this is a layer of cream silk chiffon a couple inches shorter than the one under it to allow a peak of color. Next is the first of two split layers, dyed light pink just at the edges, and then the topmost layer, another split layer, again a couple inches shorter. A sash of pale pink with flowing tails finishes the gown.

Below are two dresses I made. The little girl's dress was made with a custom darker purple bodice to better match her complexion. The petite adult gown (on the dress form) was made for a woman who liked the darker color of the girl's dress. My camera oddly only picked up some of the beadwork on the bodice. Both are silk versions with real pearls at the neckline.
