Go here to see my Arwen gowns.
Arwen was the youngest child of Elrond and Celebrían, younger sister to twin brothers Elladan and Elrohir, wife to Aragorn, and mother to a son, Eldarion. She lived until 121 of the Fourth Age, dying of a broken heart one year after the death of her husband, at the age of 2,901 years old.
In the original texts, Arwen does not make many appearances, and nearly all of the appearances made on film deviated entirely from the original novel. Most of what is known about her is through the appendices and supplemental text.
However, her expanded role in the films allowed for the design and creation of amazing costumes drawing their inspiration from nature. Much of this is in the detailing, such as floral embroidery or wrapped sleeves.
The construction of most of her costumes are the same, a two-piece emsemble consisting of an undergown with long sleeves, and a velvet overgown with a short train.

The "blood red" gown (left), perhaps the signature gown for Liv Tyler's Arwen, is constructed in this two-piece manner, with lower half-circle sleeves of a rose-red velvet and an overgown of a deep navy bordering on black, whereas her "coronation" gown (right) has two parts to its sleeve, a light lime velvet over chiffon with a slight yellow tint. The upper arms of each are beaded. All fabrics are silk, and the velvet parts of the sleeves are lined with matching silk.
The overgowns both lave long trains reaching over a foot and a half, and exhibit visits have shown then to be hemmed with zig-zag stitching causing a lettuce-edging.

Arwen's "requiem" gown (left) again has the two-piece construction, though the sleeves wrap like a lily rather than the half-circle lower sleeves, which are again seen on her "mourning" gown (right).
Her "mourning" gown is a one-piece gown with non-functional buttons and a tie sash. I use buttons from the same company that supplied the buttons for the film. This gown is the same velvet used for the "blood red" gown, a blue so deep it looks black. The edges are scalloped.
Any of these four gowns in silk with hand-beaded trim: $850
Any of these four gowns in silk with purchased trim: $650
Costume versions: Inquire (see below for costume requiem)

Arwen also wears a beautiful ivory beaded gown early in the first film, presenting Aragorn with the Evenstar. This gown is stunningly simply, with the beauty in both the simplicity and beaded detail. Again it has a long train and sleeves, though this time they are tacked in two locations, allowing them to flutter freely, baring the shoulders. Whether this gown is silk or cotton is debatable. I offer two versions. The beaded version is silk, and the other version is cotton. The sleeves can be detachable for no additional charge.
Beaded silk gown: $1200
Costume version (see mine below): $600

In a scene originally featuring Glorfindel rather that Arwen, at least in the novel, she wears a complex costume appropriately called the "chase" outfit (right).
While the level of detailing is too complex to sum up in less than a few thousand words, the fabrics consist of suedes and silks. Due to the many variations of this costume I will make, from a costume version to full deluxe version, please inquire about detailing, fabric and suede options, and pricing.
