Lord of the Rings
What do you get when you cross the amazing imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien with the dedication of Peter Jackson and the entire country of New Zealand?

Nothing short of an epic masterpiece, and the films that have my heart.  I named seven of my eight golden retriever puppies after characters, some obscure, from the books.

Fans the world over spent sleepless nights waiting for each installment of Lord of the Rings to be released.  The beauty of the overall series, the action, the drama, was...and this may seem blasphemous to say...enough to overshadow the gorgeous gowns in the films.  But you're here for the costumes!

Ngila Dickson and Richard Taylor III are no strangers to designing costumes for epic and well-loved movies.  Together they designed the costumes for one of Jackson's early films, the acting debut film for Kate Winslet, Heavenly Creatures, and individually have designed for such films as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, another Jackson film, King Kong,  and The Last Samurai.  The sumptuous fabric selection, timeless design, and perfect thought given to each character's unique personality allow for no surprise that the third film won an Oscar for best costume design, though fans and critics rightly screamed when the Academy overlooked the first two films in many categories to prevent the series from sweeping the Oscars for three straight years, despite earning the honors denied.
